Artifacts

This is a base of what could be a drinking mug!  Really don't know what it is until we get more of it though!

This is a pice of what was a wine glass! These artifacts are extremely important because they can be dated to a very short time frame or even who would have owned something like this because these artifacts back then did not show up in every house hold,  just the elite and well to do would have such fine glasswares!

These are common fire place bricks. These ones you see are preusmed english for several reasons. Where in the ground they were found, what color they are, and the fact that they where rather solid still. The french brick at our site are most often yellow and about 1/3 thinner. They seem well used and often rather brittle. This is due to the fact that they are most always under the water table. Where as the english style bricks are most often on or above the water table! You can still see the mortor that held these bricks together! Now we find frech bricks above the water table and english one below it! Thats because the site was dug up and covered over all the time mixing in many areas. but we find some places that are well defined in the events and we find english and french layers right where they are supose to be

When we find lots of the same vessle we try to keep them together as much as we can till they are cleaned and prossesed. That way we can put it back together for all our fans to see. Plus we dont waste time looking for our "missing piece" when it is all right there.  As you can see we have a cobalt blue dinner ware boul or plate! Hard to say in shambles like that! We will fix it up!

This spout is an artifact that is showcased on the sign that advertises our dig in the placentia area!

We find so many of these little beauties in the grond here! They appear to be buttons for military dress. Nothing fancy but so amazing for we find so many its hard to say why so many are here. The one reason presented to me was, "If you were running around doing drills in the mud with ten or more of these buttons on you and one pops off, you cant just stop and look for it!". That makes perfict sence!

These are large teeth! And by the looks of them, I would say a cow or horse!

This is a rare find! Some sort of white stone ware. Very nice and if yoou look close you can see the pipe stem just below in the picture
